Nick Andro

What I do: I help employers promote their job and internship opportunities for CLA students, and help coordinate and report on CCLC's on-campus recruiting activities.

Dannah Baynton

What I do: I manage all of CCLC's print and electronic materials, including brochures, newsletters, flyers, our print calendar, this Web site, and related. I also serve as the staff writer and editor.

Laura Cable

What I do: I help CLA students explore majors and careers. I do this through resume critiques and by guiding students around our splendid Resource Room, which is full of helpful information.

Shadon Ghassemlou

What I do: I am a peer advisor in the CCLC, and I help CLA students search for job opportunities, volunteer opportunities, and internships both on and off campus. I also assist students in resume and cover letter critiques.

Joyce Halverson

What I do: I work individually with students to make career decision-making less traumatic, teach career development courses, present workshops, join colleagues in planning events, and enjoy riding my Jamis bicycle during quieter moments. Samantha Minkler

What I do: I work with CLA students who are interested in exploring different majors and careers. I enjoy researching degree programs and requirements at the U and other institutions, so I can help students sort out the steps they need to take to succeed (and be HAPPY!). I also help critique resumes and cover letters.

Jackelyn Moorlag

Libby Smith

What I do I assist the Pre-Law Advisor with services for all pre-law students on the Twin Cities campus. Via workshops, classes, individual meetings and more, we help students navigate the sometimes overwhelming process of preparing for and applying to law school.

Paul Timmins

What I doI manage our career services for students. Along the way, I also teach courses, present workshops, and counsel students on career planning. I also manage the office's annual NCAA basketball-guessing contest and occasionally clean out our refrigerator.

What I do: I advise students interested in volunteering in the Twin Cites. During an advising appointment, we talk about different organizations, and highlight ones that match the student’s needs. Laurel Hirt

What I do: My role involves many components as a lead coordinator, however, I am primarily focused on encouraging faculty members at the U of M to develop service-learning courses and then to support the development and implementation of these courses across campus. Through this work, I meet frequently with community organization representatives across the Twin Cities and work with them to support our students as they do their community work.

David Holliday

What I do: I am the main U of M contact for students who want to do an off-campus study in North America. I coordinate the National Student Exchange (NSE) program as well as HECUA's Twin Cities programs (City Arts, Environmental Sustainability, Writing for Social Change, and Metro Urban Studies Term).

What I do: I feel like my title should actually be Gate Keeper, but that sounds too heavy. In reality my main job is to smile brightly when people enter our fine office, and make them feel as welcome as possible. Then I try to answer all of our visitors questions, or better yet, find someone in the department who really knows what they are talking about. In addition, I answer the phones and set appointments for the advisors.

What I do: As a Service-Learning Coordinator, I facilitate relationships between students, faculty and community organizations. I also encourage new faculty to consider a service-learning component in their course, and encourage organizations to host students. For students volunteering in the community, I make sure expectations are being met and assist in resolving issues.
